C-Change develops C-Bulletins - working with low literacy audiences
October 26, 2012 - Growing out of experiences of creating and adapting communication materials for audiences with lower literacy skills, including difficulty reading, C-Change developed the C-Bulletin series. The C-Bulletins comprise an Introduction and 10 topics that draw on the field experiences of C-Change professionals and partners. The bulletins respond to the limited information available on issues, such as whether readability formulas work for local languages, how interactivity relates to literacy, and how audiences with lower literacy skills can be mobilized to identify and advocate for local solutions to local problems. There are also bulletins on working with a creative team, using participatory processes to develop materials, testing of materials, and visual and web design principles for these audiences.
While the 10 C-Bulletins and the Introduction focus on the health sector, their advice and approaches are applicable to other sectors. They complement the C-Modules, a systematic, step-by-step process for SBCC programs.C-Change announced as finalist for prestigious international award
